  •     Rachel Taylor ’13, received the Bradley R. Evers ’94 Outstanding First-Year Student Award.

 

 

  •     Oyster River graduate becomes a Clarkson University graduate.

                                                       Marissa P. LaCoursiere has received her Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY where she previously earned a            

                                                       BS degree in Aeronautical Engineering.  Her research area was on the “Effect of pH, Temperature, Flow Rate and Anti-Corrosives on the Corrosion of Copper-Nickel Alloys.”  

                                                       Marissa graduated from Oyster River High School in 2004.

                                                     Marissa has been active in the local Potsdam, NY community as a Girl Scouts leader.  She participates in several professional organizations including ASME, ISASI, AOPA and

                                                     NACE.  She is a member of Clarkson Chapter of Sigma Gamma Tau, the national honor society for aeronautical engineers.  She has a particular interest in corrosion and aircraft

                                                     accident prevention and crash investigations.  In her off time she enjoys flying where she has been working on her instrument rating and outdoor activities like scuba diving, 

                                                     kayaking and fishing. 

 

                                                     Marissa is the daughter of Edward J. LaCoursiere and Leslie J. McRobie. 

 

  • Ethan Gilsdorf, ORHS class of 1984, presents his travel memoir / pop culture narrative "FANTASY FREAKS AND GAMING GEEKS: An Epic Quest for Reality Among Role Players, Online Gamers, and Other Dwellers of Imaginary Realms."   • Congratulations to Elizabeth Strout winner of the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for fiction for her book, “Olive Kitteridge”.

  • Madeline Starbranch, class of 2008, was recently recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) for achieving a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher at Mount Holyoke College.
