Text Box: Many of you were inspired by Alan November’s keynote address at SES day this Spring. Well, we decided to bring him to Oyster River for three days of learning!  Join your peers on June 25th at the high school from 8:00-3:00 for a day focusing on:
teaching tips that help students and teachers think critically about Internet information
showing students how to break down the boundaries of school walls and share knowledge with others around the world.

If you are a teacher who is interested in the effective use of technology in your classroom and you would like an opportunity to engage every learner, this is what you've been waiting for!
The primary objective for the technology mentor program is to create and maintain a district wide team of teachers who work together to incorporate appropriate technologies into their curricular activities, attend technology trainings and provide staff development training to support their peers. Funding is available for 24 mentors. Mentors receive $1,000 stipend and up to $1,000 of hardware for their classroom. Putting It All Together: Projects in Practice
Be a student for the two days.  You will be able to put your skills to practice. Start a project and see it through – just as your students would. You will have the opportunity to develop a project that you might assign to your students in your subject area. Apping the tools used throughout the course of the mini-conference, you will develop a project plan from start to Text Box: finish and feel first hand what it is like for a student to learn in a motivating and challenging way. Get ready to get moving!
Teachers are encouraged to sign up fast as this opportunity will be offered to Oyster River staff first and then available to other districts. Space is limited.  You can attend June 25th, August 18th and 19th, or all three days. There is no cost and light breakfast and lunch are provided all three days! 
No stipends will be paid for attendance. PD hours awarded

Intended Audience: RTI teams, administrators, department heads, psychologists, reading specialists

Overview of Performance Tracker and an Introduction to using Assessment Builder. Participants will discuss data collection and reporting at a school and district level and using information to make data-driven decisions that will enhance instruction and increase student achievement. Participants will receive $100 stipend for attendance each day.

Professional staff can choose to take one, all or a combination of the above offerings. You will create their own portfolio as part of the training. There will be a $100 stipend for full day attendance.
